lets see now, approaching 40k miles
no new mods for awhile as i'm pretty happy with my mugen Ti exhaust, hi-end xframe, S/S center grille, nice wheels, very cool stereo, k&N air filter, cool carpet matts, , I think thats it.
One day maybe matching mugen headers and S/C.

I thought the hood dampers were silly, but after having them on I really like them. Makes access to the engine bay nice and unobstructed. Made it easy to remove the SC when upgrading the pulley.

Maybe a couple additional items could be added to the list such as:

Payment of the entire high deductible amount on the car's insurance policy as a result of being involved in an accident. On many occasions, such accidents are due to driver error in not knowing the limitations of the car's handling abilities.

Experience the virtues of patience when it takes over three months to receive the replacement parts.

Expenditure of a couple more thousand dollars to enroll in a series of high speed driving, defensive driving, and race car driving courses. Maybe a few more dollars to receive private driving instructional lessons .

If the addiction to race appears, then money is needed to buy a second car and have it built to the standards required to race within a certain class. Spending more money to become a member of the racing association, track fees, racing fees, and other miscellaneious items that will be required.

Naturally, one cannot overlook the big jump in one's insurance policy for the car after attending traffic school (just a mere $160) and then receiving a second and maybe third speeding ticket, most of which are from radar and photo radar units.

I am sure that the more knowledgeable owners/racers could come up with many more aspects that we have overlooked.

But, as you stated so well, I would not have it any other way!

All of the foregoing examples are pure fictitious examples of what could happen to an owner of an S2k but all such aspects as set forth above are the products of my pure imagination. Any resemblance to actual costs or time involved in repairing by an owner of an s2k not to mention the new highly functional seat to provide more comfort while staring at the moniter screen for hours upon hours examining issues on the S2ki site is entirely coincidental.

Vicious cycle, ain't it? Despite the inevitable inclination towards despondency, there are many worse addictions out there.
