The carbon fiber intake has been broken. If the owner is going to let something simple like that get busted up, then he/she does not care about the car. I would pass for sure. If that is your price range I would go with a low mile AP1 WAY before a high mile AP2. Mileage was the 1st thing I considered when looking.

Since when did a dirty car correspond to a hard driven car?

I don't think the price is that bad. I think it should be inspected by a mechanic before you buy it though.

Glad to see I'm not the only s2k owner running the front lip on to cement parking blocks. Did you see the road rash on the chin spoiler?

Not that it determines how the car has been treated, I treat mine like gold but still hit those parking stops.

I can't believe someone is going to sell a car and not clean it up...or is this 'clean'...hmmm.

Good luck, these cars can take a beating...no worries. I wouldn't drive 6 hours though.

Actually I think the photographer did a bad job at capturing the vehicle. It looks like they caught just the right angle to show the swirl marks in the paint. As for the scratches on the front bumper, I believe that's the reflection from the the parking lot. I bet if they took pictures at better angles and a different parking spot that it would look beautiful. The top looks pristine it's just that black shows swirl marks show SO easily that it could just be bad only in the right light. Have you checked it out in person yet? Like others have said, see if you can find someone up in that area that can check it out for you and buy them dinner if you drive up to purchase it.

See if you can contact the seller and get them to take more pictures of the exterior and explain that you are 6 hours away but are interested. I'm sure if they want to sell it that they would go that little extra mile for more/better pictures.

Not sure if mods are worth it to you or what, but I spend an extra $2k for over 60k miles less. I don't know that you'll find that, but 80k on that car is just a lot!

I'd personally pass. I'm sure you can find better within six hours!

Where do you live?

i just rolled over 120k on the stock clutch.

maintenance kept up, the s2000 is nearly indestructable.

i wouldnt be scared of the mileage, but i would still try to talk the price down.
