Found the perfect AP1,MY00,15k miles...
I had 2 my00. Great cars, nothing wrong with them. I rather like my 06 better though, easier to live with on a daily basis. VSA is annoying sometimes, but in the rain I've rather like it. Also, sooner or later I WILL supercharge this thing and being able to program the ECU is a big plus. Also the the new fuel system makes it much easier. I supercharged my last my00, and changing out a fuel pump SUCKS in the earlier models. You have to be gumbie to get back there and do it.
i personally think the 2002-2003 AP1s are better mainly b/c of the glass window. Then other little things like better ECU, Vinyl center console etc.
I think 15K is a bit high - I believe 12.5-13K is more in line for that car with that mileage.

I think it is a little overpriced to tell you the truth. Also, If your looking into the AP1, go for th 02-03 models as alot of the minor defects were fixed. Most importantly, it has the glass window with defroster. It might not seem an issue now, but in the long run it will. The low mileage is great, but if you can be patient, I'm pretty sure another will turn up for the 02-03 models. You can even find AP2 models in the $15k range, but with a little more miles. I say wait on it if you can, but it is definitely not a deal too good to pass up IMO.
Also, as a few stated, the newer the better if you can afford.

Not that big of a mystery. We've been seeing a lot of early cars with low miles coming out of the woodwork. There was an MY02 in Jax that came up for sale with 8k miles on the clock.
Understand that when the s2k first came out it was supposed to be a limited production run. And it was pretty damn special technologically. Plus, the car mags were giving glowing reviews.
There were 6 month waiting lists and the cars generally sold for $5-10k OVER sticker. The people who bought the cars were enthusiasts with money who normally had another car or cars to drive. Some were used only as fun cars.
Now the economy has tanked, and those owners are weighing the decision of keeping a car that is barely used or having an extra $10k in liquid capital.

And it doesn't mean that the person, no matter how rich, knew how to properly maintain a car that is stored for most of it's ten years of life.
But what are the potential problems? I'm not an expert in this area...
