Default Free Supercharger

I just received great news from my boss! I work for a company involved with the automotive industry. My boss told me a week ago that he is friends with the president of Vortech, so I asked him if he could try to get me a good deal on a supercharger once I have enough money for one. He told me today that he had gotten all the info on the supercharger and that he is going to call his friend soon. I told him that he didnt need to soon becuase I am not close to being able to afford it. He then told me "Well let me see if I can get it for free!" How sick is that? What mods do I NEED before I add the supercharger kit? Can you put the comptech intercooler when it comes out on the Vortech kit? Thanks!!!

Get one for me too!

Comptech is releasing an aftercooler, not an intercooler. An aftercooler is already included in the Vortech kit, so I don't see why you would want to replace it with the Comptech unit.

Actually, my boss is a really nice man. What is the difference between the intercooler and aftercooler? What is the one that you can see through the front bumper? Thanks!

Intercooler was used on aeroplane back in the ???50's. I don't think they use it any more

Aftercooler is used on car, after the turbo or SC to cool the air intake. The vortech one is water to air "aftercooler" . People just used the terms inappropriately.

Good luck with your FREE kit. Damn I am jealous

If it's a big heat exchanger in the front bumper it is referred to (correctly or incorrectly) as an air-to-air intercooler. Most turbo installs use this kind.

If it is a box under the bonnet that the air passes through, with a heat exchanger inside and a small radiator in front of the AC condenser then it is referred to as a air-to-water-to-air aftercooler. That's what the Vortech uses.

Can you add an air-to-air intercooler to the Vortech Supercharger? If so, how much do these kind of intercoolers usually cost? Thanks!!
