This is a great reminder. I do oil changes so frequently and have never burned enough oil to really worry about it but I will check more often. Thanks for the reminder

good reminder phase
as a new owner ( bought mine 4 months ago ) I didnt realize the car was known for burning so much oil. Now that i know this, i will also keep a close eye on the oil level. I just changed my oil a month ago and the car hasnt moved since. However, i will go check it tommorrow now that i know this. Thanks again !

Read the owner's manual - it tells you to check the oil EVERY time that you fill the car up with fuel, also tells you to check the coolant overflow.

I NEVER fill up without checking the oil - only takes a minutes to pull out the dip stick, wipe it off, and then re-insert - wait a few seconds, pull out and take a reading.

No problem. I just thank god my motor still moves, just wanted to pass that on in case anyone else hadin't checked in awhile.

I now reset my trip and check every 100 miles, thanks for the tip Cape Cod.

i dont like checking the oil at the gas station because the engine is still warm and can give deceptive readings. i usually let the car sit overnight and check it first thing in the morning(lets all the oil drain to the bottom of the oil pan).
