Default Front bumper has black plug instead of red

2005 Honda S2000 for sale in Seattle - JHMAP21425S008009 - University Mazda

Emailed the dealer and he said that its a plug and its normally color matched. He claims the previous owner must have lost it? Does that seem like a possibility or is the bumper likely replaced due to damage?
If it is original, I'm currently emailing him asking if the VIN stick is present or not, how would I go about finding a color matched red one? Also the front Honda badge is a different color. I feel like I'm being somewhat
paranoid but I'm considering driving 200+ miles to check the car out so wanted to hear your expert opinions first.

Thanks!

Got a reply and picture from the dealer, the VIN sticker is present and matches the one in the window. Still not sure how that part went missing or how to acquire a red one now, short of just painting the plug but I'd want the color to blend correctly.

That's an access cover for the front tow hook location and can be replaced by ordering a replacement in the correct color. Someone also switched out or modified the Honda "H" chrome badges with blacked out ones. I'd ask the dealer to send more images of better quality for review before doing anything else.

Looks more like a bad plastidip job. It can be peeled off. The tow hook cover should be an easy buy to get from Honda in original NFR.

I would agree with darkfalcon, someone bought a can of plasidip and went too far. Get a PPI from someone in the area if you interested. Good luck!

What price? Only 30,000 miles on the car.

To get black badges requires removing the OEM badges to paint or dip or replace (they're available). The front and rear H badges are just outlines so the body color shows inside the outline (no center filler) and have locating holes in the body panels but the emblems near the side turn signals are just glued on. Getting them right needs a template.

Regardless, these can be ignored and easily fixed if the car is otherwise right.

By the way, I didn't mean to give you pause regarding the car by suggesting you have the dealer send better photos (from what you can make out in the photos listed, the car looks nice). I simply meant that you should have some decent sized, higher resolution photos to review before you decide to make a trip to see the car.
