Default Front Bumper Removal Help

All bolts, screws and clips are removed, I am told and I can see in the diagram there are 3 hooks by each headlight.

Question is "how are you supposed to get the bumper off the hooks?"

Do you pull up? pull straight? at an angle? Just what do you do?

this is the way i've been doing it. it maybe wrong, so dont blame me if you break something or your paint chips!

first double check to see that you have indeed removed all the bolts. the obvious are the ones on top, and the ones underneath. but did you remember the screw on each side of the wheel well? what about the bolt in each corner near the headlights? after you check those points pull out the corner where the top of the bumper meets the fender. you'll need to separate the bumper from the corners or else it wont come off. then pull straight out towards you. i place one hand in the air damn to pull and the other near the wheel well to guide it off. its kinda brutal, and sometimes i swear that im gonna break something, but it works everytime. after you release one side, ask a buddy to hold it and make sure that the metal tab next to the fender and upper radiator support doesnt scratch the paint as you go to work on the other side.

to install the bumper you do the direction above in reverse.. heres a couple tips to make your life just a little easier. check to see that youve included the styrofoam bumper thing (ive forgotted to do this a few times!), watch out for those tabs cuz they'll scratch the hell out of your paint or headlight. be gentle yet firm when you try to get the bumper back into the tabs. watch the splash guard and make sure its tucked under correctly and watch for the wheel well lining to make sure that the fold comes out over the bumper.

hope this helps.
