Many thanks

S2WOOW has fog lamps on his car. I saw them on his car at the last West LA meet. I'll try to find a link to a picture of his car. You might want to contact him via PM or e-mail. I'm sure he has pictures of his car.

Here's the thread, with the pics: http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...p?threadid=2970 (I'll see if I can take some more pics of the lights on Ron's car, when we hook up this weekend.)

The don't fit them because with the HUDS you don't need them. Pea soup, 50 yard visiblity fog proved that.

I think I may be losing something here in the translation from the queen's english to plain old american english. Are you saying that you need the fog lights, or that you don't need them.

I haven't driven the S2K in the fog yet, so I don't know how the HIDs would look.

The HIDS work great in the fog, easily as good as any fog lights I've had.

Thanks gdowsett. It's good to know that the HIDs would work well in the fog. I'm sure you get more than your fair share of it out in the UK.

I kind of figured that since the car is so low, and the HIDs are so bright, there wouldn't really be a need for fog lights.

A lesson is British "fogology", Mark......They no longer have the pea soup variety you envision, as portrayed in old British movies (a la Jack the Ripper). That's because they banned the burning of coal many years ago, along with disappearance of smog polluting steam trains. However, because most motorways in the U.K. are bordered by crop fields, then you do tend to get mucho "ground fog" - exactly the same as you get in rural U.S. OTOH, you hardly ever encounter heavy SMOG like you see every day in L.A. So the bottom line is that in Britain, you normally only need fog lights to counteract the nice, clean, ground fog.

Hey Clive,

Thanks for clarifying the fog that's in the UK now. I was imagining that it was real thick like in those old movies.

By the way, we have marine layer here, no smog by the coast. Besides, Houston has taken the title away from us as the smoggiest city in the US.
