Front grills: Do they make your engine run hot?

[B]Axcilla, I saw on that page that there is a certain side that should be facing the front when you mount the front grill that will help keep it cooler.

axcilla,
I have the bumper protector and front grill. I am happy with the apppearance of both and the number of larged winged insects that I clean from the front grill shows how it is protecting the condensor fins. I was amazed at how quickly several of the condensor fins were stone damaged in the first few weeks before installation of the front grill.
I too only see 3 bars on the temp indicator and some of my drives have been several hours at around 90 degrees. I have talked to you several times on the phone and still do not see how the simple removal of the faux black plastic side grills allows more air to flow into the area in front of the condensor/radiator. The condensor/radiator area seems to be separated from the area behind the faux grills. You mentioned two circular holes, one on each side which let air into the condensor/radiator area but upon examination, I can't see how these holes permit air flow between the two areas. At one point, you offered an option which included tubing that connected the front CM side grills to the radiator/condensor area but installation was difficult and required removal of the front bumper.
Please lend your expertise here. Right now, I can't see the sense of merely removing the faux side grills and installation of the CM side grills other than for the sake of appearance.
Thanks

littleton,
basically from the test data
The temp with the grill without the side ducts cut out, at air cleaner the temp is 93.7 and at the radiator 147.1
However the temp with the grill and the side grills cut out (air induction) is 90.8 at the air cleaner, and 137 at the radiator.
Is the main difference. However if your happy with the way the car runs, never go over 3 bars, and see no decrease in performance there is no need to change. The tests proved that the temps decrease when the side vents are cut out (allowing more air into the engine bay).
My advice to you, since you seem to be happy with the set-up, is keep the S 2000 just the way it is.

Also, would you also go with the black grill on the Silverstone? Sorry to be such a wuss, but the pictures suck, and my sense of color coordination is bad enough to begin with (I know it's only black and silver but, ask my wife, I'm challenged even there!)
Won't hold you to it, but please offer your humble opinion on the color of the grill also! I've seen the stainless on Silverstone, and it looks sweet, but maybe I should match it with the bumper protector?

I think you indicated somewhere (in your comparo with Grill-Tech) that the powdercoat is bound to chip at some point, leaving the stainless exposed, no?

JonasM,
Do you have any pics of your car with the black grill installed? I am thinking of getting it and I have a Sebring, also.
Thanks,
Joe

other than the temperature increasing or a possible decrease in performance, what (if any) other downfalls are there? anything to the engine or other parts? esp. in every day driving.
i did a search and there seemed to be more concern in 2001 about reaching 4 bars and etc. but nothing recently.
