Front license plate frame
This is my first post. I look forward to getting more acquainted.
I just moved from PA to CA and need to use a front license plate. I bought the hardware (plastic that cost a bundle) but it did not come with instructions on how to attach this. Can someone steer me to instructions on how to do this? Thanks.
I'm running into the same problem with a 1997 CRV.

YOu know... it's the law here in CA but... I don't have the front license mounted on my S2K. No problem so far. A friend of mine (with a Porsche 911) does not have the front plate either. When I park, I just place the plate on the front windshield.

I took my front plate holder off recently (Massachusetts doesn't issue front plates to everyone). If you reverse my order, you would do the following. This is for a 2005:
First, remove the two little plastic nubs that cover the screw holes above the grille.
Second, align the metal thing sticking out of the back of the plate holder with the screw hole inside the grille. Screw that screw in.
Third, screw two screws through the depressed holes in the upper portion of the plate holder into the two inner screw holes in the bumper above the grille.
After all that, tighten the screws and attach the license plate.

When you register your car here in CA, you'll most likely be issued two plates. The previous owner of my S2K didn't put on the front plate. When I got the car, I ended up using one of these:

Two plates are required in Wisconsin, but I have not had front plates on any of my vehicles since I move here in 1973. The risk of fine, and paying it, is a small price to pay for the cleaner look. Recently someone did an informal study for the newspaper and counted over 10% of vehicles do not have front plates.
