Default Front License Plate Hole Covers

Hey guys,
so I just got the new hole covers and was wondering after I put them on and I get the inevitable fix it ticket to put my front lic plate back on, how hard is it to pop the covers off. Looking at them, they look like they're designed to be put on and stay on. Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

They pry off pretty easily.

Agree... they come off easy; just slide some dental floss or fishing line between the front bumper and the hole plugs then ease them off gently so they can be used again.

No need to ever take them off...

I haven't had a front plate on for almost what must be 4 years now and I've certainly been stopped enough times.

Keep your plate under your set attached to a few pieces of the broken mount, if it isn't broken, break it.

When you get pulled over and asked about the front plate, pull it out and show the cop. Let them know you have a new one on order and will mount it once the part is in at the dealer and that you would have put it on your dash but you thought that if the top was down and the plate was on your dash, it could fly out and hit someone causing an unsafe condition on the roadway, isn't it better to make sure your load is secure than to worry about the legality of your front license plate? Think about the children for God's sake...

If they question it because you have the plugs, tell them they came with your car and you put them on to keep the road grit out of the threaded holes so that when the new bracket shows up, it'll be a quick fix.

I went with the Ricks plate holder since I didn't want this hassle you speak of.

I'm very pleased with it and have learned to live with the front plate. To be honest I dont mind it at all with the Rick's holder, the stock one however is awful.

Thanks everyone for your responses.
I appreciate your insight 3ngin33r1, but cops here in Cali aren't very gullible or reasonable, they write tickets like it feeds their family... wait, it does.

No problems getting them off. You could always just mount the plate to the grill opening for the short term if you receive a ticket. I wouldn't leave it down there long term or during the hot months.
