I shaved mine a little on the top and bottom so it would fit better, then put black duct tape on the edge so it wouldn't scratch the paint. Then I ziptied it to the grill. It's been like this since January '03, and have never had a problem.

How hard do you drive your car? What kind of weather? How often?

I just put the grill on, but I'm a little concerned about air flow. Is there anything else that you've done to make sure things stay cool?

I was actually thinking about getting a vented CF hood to let heat out just because of this.

Damn it. I wish license plates were smaller.

I have mine mounted in the grill also. Last week I was driving through Redding/Red Bluff, CA where the OA temp was 110'F and the temp gauge went up one bar.

I just don't bother to put mine on. Almost three years and the cops seem to turn a blind eye. If I do get a ticket ($75 CDN) it'll work out to less than $25 per year for the joy of no front plate.

I drive primarily in the Midwest. Temps get well into the nineties, but not into the triple digits.

The cooling system has it's own closed-loop way of cooling itself off. When the electric thermostat kicks in, the fan goes on and pulls air into the radiator. The only time my front license plate is getting in the way is when the car is cruising down the highway. Fortunately, this isn't the time that cooling is most critical for an engine. When you're at highway speeds, you're still getting air through the radiator and if it gets hot enough, the fan will kick in.

I've never come close to overheating with this setup.
