What is the best way to relocate the FLP off the bumper. Someone had mentioned using wire to attach it to the stock grill, but I wanted a more elegant rig.
Anyone with some help?
I sent my tag to Coastal Metal's and had them trim it down and stick it onto one of their grills. I'm very happy with it and have run into no cooling/airflow problems.
Here's a link to one thread about this solution, with links to 3 other threads about same stuff.
Any problems without the FLP in the Seattle area?? As part of the PDI with the dealer (I gave them the S2KI.com Pre-Delivery Letter!!) I told them not to mount the FLP bracket.
Well, thanks for the tips and threads. I'll work on attaching my bracket to the stock grille.
Already have a warning for no FLP. If I come up with something really creative, I'll post it.
I was a sheep and was the 2nd (that I'm aware of) to follow Moonpie's efforts with Coastal-Metals front grill insert. I don't *like* that my state (VA) requires FLPs, but since I enjoy my personalized plates, I appreciate the efforts that C-M did to reduce its size, professionally mount/trim it to their grill, and generally finish off a sweet effort. For me, if an FLP is a requirement...then I'm going to abide in as classy a fashion as possible. Besides, I'd just as soon not pay the fine every time officer Bob decides he's had enuf of seeing me have too much fun...
A police officer friend of mine said to take the front licence plate bracket and just break it. You know step on it or something. He then if you get pulled over you can just say it broke and you havn't replaced it YET. Now, YET could mean tommorrow or next week or the next century. (I'm not saying to break the law but it does work ask his wife)
