BTW, I belive that most state codes say that you're not allowed to alter the license plate in any way, so if they want to ticket you, having a cut down plate won't necessarily help.

They can still give you a fix-it ticket.

Hmmm... I think in numerous provinces in Canada, you can choose no to mount the front plate. In fact, I think that in Quebec, you don't even get a plate for the front. Am I wrong????

When we cut the plates down, we use the plate as a frame, and use Trim-Loc to wrap around the license plate for a finished look. On other plates, there is no room to trim the plate down, the plate is then mounted about 1/4" above the grill with screws, and spacers.
