Default front and rear wheels

like the title says.
how do you tell the difference between front and rear wheels on a AP1?

i know you can probably measure it but how is it done without using any type of specialty tools?

i think that's an obvious point.
i know the rears are wider.

let me give you an example.

i'm going to be buying 2 ap1 wheels. they have 225/45-16 tire on each wheel but one is a rear wheel and the other is from the front. how do you tell them apart?

If they both have the same tire on them, it should be pretty easy to eyeball which tire "overhangs" the wheel more. That one is the front

If you don't have any "measuring device", grab a dollar bill. It should be readily apparent which wheel is wider when comparing it against an object of fixed length.

Generally, the fronts are ahead of you and the rears are trailing.

Generally.

the size/width of the wheel (ap1) is stamped on the inside on one of the spokes... you can't miss it if you're looking for it... (just look on the spokes)

This is just too easy. Why would you expect anyone to do something this obvious?

Also, if looking at the stamping is too tough, measure the diameter of the center hole. The hole in a front rim is just a bit bigger than that in a rear rim.

ps. Without looking at the signs, how can you tell which is the men's crapper and which is the lady's crapper?
Answer: If you walk into the wrong one, if you're a lady, you'll get groped. If you're a man, you'll get slapped and screamed at.

pps. If we're talking about OEM S2000 rims ...................
Answer: Try bolting a rear rim onto the front hub. It'll feel like you have to wedge the thing on. Try bolting a front rim onto a rear rim - NO PROBLEM!
