I am the proud owner of a 2001 one model and while I love the car, I've noticed that the passenger seat rattles a bit during driving when it is pushed back all the way and unoccupied. Is this normal? I could just keep the seat up a bit more, but I want to know if there is excess shaking in my new car. Thanks

My 2000 does the same... Pulling it forward a click or two keeps the headrest from hitting the cabin wall...

In addition, make sure your passenger belt tang is not hanging low (mid-door) on the belt; it will rattle like hell against the door unless it's at the very top of the seat. Some folks have been known to even keep the belt clicked when driving sans passenger.

What if we got rick to make us some sort of liner for behind the seat? so us tall guys don't have to put up with a loss of leg room just to keep our sanity?

Just a thought.

Poordog, there has been another thread on this topic recently - go back a week or so and you should find it.

I have the same symptons, it feels (and sounds) as if the seat is building up a resonance frequency and I find I have to put my hand on top to stop it. Unfortunately in my case pulling it forward doesn't make any difference.

In my experience this is a different issue to the seat belt rattle which I also have when passengers get out and the seatbelt buckle is not moved all the way to the top of the seat.

Let me know if you find a fix.

Me too....I think that it is the seatbelt end hitting the plastic trim on the side of the car. I just pull the seatbelt latch (that goes into the buckle) so it sits up right against the seat belt feeder that sits on the seat itself. The rattles should stop.

Alternatively, you could move the seat forward a couple clicks on the runners to stop it hitting the roll hoop. However, try the seatbelt thing first. It worked for me so I think it may work for you.
