I've never seen one installed on any of the cars photographed in magazine reviews. I don't think there is any performance advantage. One fellow on the old board had several replaced under warranty because every time he drove fast (100 mph plus I think), his cracked off.

I can understand having one if you live in a region where there are other S2K's. Differentiation is nice. However, I've got the only S2K within 105 miles, so differentiation is not a problem.

My dealer, Dick Weber, strongly discouraged me from getting it. He said it would be nothing but problems on our roads.

The car looks great 100% stock.

The front spoiler is a must for me. I think the car looks great as is, but with something up front, I think it'd look better.

But the OEM spoiler never made me say wow. It looks a bit tacked on... the Gears one, however, looks pretty darn smooth.

And I don't get the "lines" of the car... all S2000s look great and I don't think silver enhances the "lines" of the car at all.

I'm getting the Gears version. Smooth. Thanks for all your input. Bottom line: you guys drive an awesome car!

One more front spoiler to look at. Available in both carbon fiber or fiberglass. No drilling or cutting requried for install.

Of course I like it because I built it.

I think S2000 looks a lot more aggressive with the front spoiler, but I wouldn't get the factory front spoiler because everyone has it. I'll get either Gear or Back Yard Special bodykit when I've money and they cost about the same as the stock kit.

I got the stock front spoiler from the website because I think the front needs some definition and it definitely adds to the lines of my silver stook. Had a lot of positive comments from people that know the car. Also, when I first got the car I didnt pay attention to those concrete bumpers and boogered up the front and actually cracked the plastic. The spoiler hid all of that stuff and it only sits about 1/4" lower and costs less than the gear. If I nail this one I can always replace and protect the original front bumper. Beware of aftermarket body parts, they are generally unpainted, which will add expense.

Yeah, I got in contact with the Gears spoiler person and it does cost extra to paint and self-installable.

But I can't tell if it looks smooth on the car--meaning no gaps or anything like that. It looks pretty flush in the pictures so I can't imagine how a self-install without machining the original bumper is going to get a nontacked on look.

And, Ben, the rims looks nice, but the front spoiler is a bit too spoilerish for me if that makes any sense. Thanks, though!
