Front Tires: 5302 miles :(
Problem with the alignment check is that I can't find a shop that knows the proper alignment. Nobody seems to have the info for an S2000.
My Honda dealer (Dublin Honda) will do the alignment, but they won't put on new tires that I bring from TireRack, so it would have been an annoying two step process that I diddn't really have the time for when I got new tires in. (Of course they did the tranny fix two weeks later... they coulda done it then...)
But the car really tracks PERFECTLY straight. It would have to be PERFECLY misaligned! I tried it last night going home, and the car went straight for almost a mile, until the road turned.

Mine are up to 11,500kms and are still in really good nick. I obviously don't drive the car hard enough!
The wheel alignment on the S2K is a pretty big job. I actually just had it done yesterday by Honda. Local tyre shop Actually told me to take it back to Honda to get it done.

I wish I could remember where the thread was, but I just recently read a few messages about alignments from a few of our members. I recall the issue being the conversion from degrees to inches or something like that.
If anyone happens to recall the thread I am talking about, please post a link so that we can get to it.
Also, it sounds like a perfect topic for the FAQ at S2Ki.com. Can we suggest that the info be posted there?

The RE730 are the replacements for the RE71 from Bridgestone. I had RE71 on my Porsche Turbo Cabriolet and they were great tires. The wear rating on the Re730's are almost double that of the S02's. Also, they are roughly half the price.
There are some on the board who don't like them due to the fact that they have less ultimate adhesion than the S02s. But I'm one of those unlucky folks who spend 95% of the time driving to work in a rather busy commute route. So I don't notice the lack of adhesion at all.
On the upside, they seem to do just fine in the rain and cold.

Hey Sparky,
It's the tight corners in the city that wears em out when you take them at non-senior-citizen speed, and I am sure the tripple digit speeds on the highway have an important influence as well.
I used to drive a Neon (don't laugh - company car - don't laugh) and the rear tires were actually worn before the fronts. I just drive European-ish.
My follow-up Intrepid's tires were 'slicks' at 20,000 miles and I had the Pensky guys actually applauding for that.
My colleague noticed that the sides of my new tires were curling already after 1500 miles, and within that time-frame we had maybe one week of no-snow!! (I live in Michigan).
How much do the S2000 tires cost anyway?
I'll be picking my stook up tomorrow!!!!!

I had to do an emergency set of rears at the local Firestone/Bridgstone dealer (nail->blowout). I think it was $550 with mount/balance/tax...
You can do better if you plan in advance and mail-order them, but it's kinda tricky to get the right ones. Not all S02's are the same, and I don't mean the pole positions.
