Default Front Under Spoiler

Can someone who has the Honda front underspoiler tell me how much closer to the ground it brings the front of the car. I really would like to add it to my car and want to know if when I do will I have to worry about hitting things more than I already do. Our car is already pretty low, how much lower will adding this make it.
Also, has anyone installed it themselves. I got the instructions and it does not appear to be very difficult. Is this the case?

I believe 0.5 inches closer to the ground - and yes it's relatively easy to install

It looks like it is a lot lower than it actually is. I installed mine by myself in about an hour.

I like the thing because it saves the front end. But $500 is way expensive. Check out the Veilside, its cheaper and its carbon fiber.

Tom,

If you want the OEM front spoiler at cheaper than what local dealer is offering at (aka, Schaumburg Honda's markups are HORRID...but if you go through them, ask for Craig Hederman....he should get you some discount), check out one of our board sponsors. H and A accessories, they get us OEM parts cheaper than local dealers.

When you get it, if you need an extra hand to install, give me a holler. I'm somewhat nearby in Schaumburg.

PS. If you haven't looked into it yet, you may want to check out the Coastal Metals front air splitter. I have it on my car and I love how something so simple can give the front a more aggressive look, without lowering the leading edge of the car. It was designed to protect the bumper cover from scratches by bottoming out on potholes, curbs, and parking bricks. Let me know, we can meet up somewhere if you'd like to check it out.

I live out in Schaumburg, and work out in Buffalo Grove.

The Honda lip hardly makes any difference to the bottom clearance; however, because it makes the front end very square, it's more prone to scrapes on the sides if you misjudge backing out of parking spaces which have a kurb on one side. Make sure you don't turn the steering wheel too early or the front side will scrape along the kurb.

I've gone through two of these spoilers (the first one cracked), and I've now gone with the Coastal Metals front lip. It doesn't square off the front (so the front keeps its rounded profile), and does a good job of preventing scrapes across the bottom of the bumper.

Hey, thanks for all the imput. I just ordered it through HandA, there was a post that a group buy was going on, so I got in on the discounted price. Not a bad deal, if you ask me. I like the look of the Honda one, so that's what I went with. Once again, thanks....

anyone got a good pic of the coastal metals product? i need to replace my OEM and am considering the various items available (may go with another OEM - not sure).

i was driving on the highway on the weekend when all of a sudden the SUV in front of me spit up a flying hubcap (not from his car - must have already been there). i had nowhere to go and it came flying towards the car and broke my OEM front lip in half (half actually came off the car) - looks cock-eyed now.

regards,

nimesh

Not much lower ... Seriously, just get it ... I think it's an essential rather than an option.
