Default Funsdead, How you install spoiler?

Hey Funsdead, or anyone else that knows the answer,

Since you have installed the airwalker spoiler on your S2000, did you do it yourself? or did you have a professional installer do it?

I was thinking of getting aftermarket spoilers, but I don't have the tools to install them, so I was wondering if there are any professional installers in Raleigh that will do body part installations?

I asked Leith dealer, and they said that they probably wouldn't do it. But I was asking a wrong person at that time.

Thanks in advance!

I am assuming you are talking about the front spoiler, if so, all you have to do is take the screws that hold the bumper on (bottom row) and put the spoiler up there and reinstall the screws. (for the most part)

Well I was talking about all spoilers.. side, font and rear. I assume they all have different installation process? Thing is, I don't realy have a lift to get under the car and play with it.

take care.

First off. . .the front spoiler that funsdead has is the AirWalker kit. So, I'm not sure of the installation process.

For the other spoilers, they are pretty simple to install. I installed the OEM Front and Rear spoilers and everything went very well without the use of lifts or any superb tools!

The side spoilers require drilling (as does the rear spoiler) and you may want to reconsider those as they wear poorly (at least the ones I've seen).

I'm sure each kit has a different installation process. I can tell you that the Airwalker Kit was PITA to install. I had Kenny Hawkins Automotive do the work and I was very satisfied with their effort and the final results.

The Kit is made of Fiberglass so it did not bend easily. It was a very very tight fit and in order for the piece to fit they needed to remove the front bumper because the bumper had more give than the lip. No screws underneath, just 2 on each side to attatch it to the front bumper, under the wheel well. Since the lip was not designed to screw in from underneath, 3m double sided tape was used along the front and bottom of the bumper.

They did an excellent job, customer service is top notch and they allowed me to bring it back numerous times until i was satisfied....

I have installed and re-installed the front lip a few times. The install is very straight foward and simple. A center-punch and drill are required for 1 screw on each side of the front wheel well, and I believe there are 6 screws underneath that secure the lip to the bumper....

hey airgate,

I ordered my rear spoiler from HandA right when I bought the car last december, and still haven't gotten up the nerve to put it on yet.... The instructions call for drill bits with metric sizes (6mm, 8mm and 10mm if I remember correctly), and I can't find any metric sized drill bits for the life of me. do you happen to remember what drill bits you used?

thanks!
rich.
