Variants on this nonsense have been on the market for years, in the Whitney catalogue since the 50's.

It is utter nonsense, and like the Tornado, it is entirely supported by anecdotes from people - and it has been shown over and over that if people invest in something, they will adjust their behavior to make the result match their expectations.

In medicine, it is the Placebo Effect.

In psychology, it is known as cognitive dissonance. Example: A woman steps on the gas pedal and crushes her kid - it is too painful for the mind to accept, so she sdays the car accelerated onn its own (this actually happened). Remember the old "unintended acceleration" thing that almost destroyed Audi int he US? The final analysis after all the hoopla was driver error.

As a physicist, mechanical and electrical engineer, I can say with confidence that this product is an absolute waste of time. If it could do what it says, it would be on every major car worldwide. They invest Billions to get a 1 mpg improvement across the board.

People actually do buy these things which only proves the old adage "There's a sucker born every minute."

Reminds me of the guy who had a real problem. He bought a gadget that decreased his fuel consumption 15%, then another that decreased it 25% and so on that all his gadgets in total decreased it 150%. The guy had to go out every day and drain the extra fuel out of his tank to keep it from overflowing!

I'm not going to flame you - but I'd have some serious reservations about getting on a plane flown by your dad!
