Default Funny story avoiding bad weather

So this past weekend I was working Friday night and the weather down here in Atlanta has been a bit bi-polar lately. It was a beautiful day but during my shift I noticed that it started to rain quite harshly and that hail was starting to come down. Everyone in the restaurant is just gawking outside and talking about how nasty it is. Well I for one refuse to let MY beloved S2000 sit out there and endure that kind of torture. The only real choice that I has was to run though the downpour and get to my car and move it to the parking deck down the block. I left it there and when I got back to work, completely soaking wet of course, everyone is looking at me like I am nuts. I wasnt about it get into it with everyone about how I have an aluminum hood that dents from a light breeze but needless to say I had to work the rest of the night completely soaked with co-workers constantly poking at me.

Thankfully the car was not dented at all and completely safe but I was not going to take any chances with hail. I'd throw my body on the hood and wait it out if I had to

Anybody else have any similar experience?

only time I've ever made a mad dash to the car when it started to rain was because of a sudden summer storm that came up and I had left the top down.

You must have a really weenie hood

Mine's taken rocks, bolts and other debris which has chipped the paint, but never dented.

I keep it well waxed so water isnt an issue.

I *would* do your exact scenerio if it started to hail hard though...

During a hail storm recently a lady covered the whole top and front glass of her truck with grass sod. Worked well.

I would do the same under those circumstances. I try to drive my Insight (traded in the Pilot for it since I don't need that big of a hauler anymore) when I know its going to be bad weather. It's always a tough choice because I so love driving the S.

I actually go out during midday and switch parking spots to where the shade is so that the interior stays as unfaded as possible. My boss continually laughs at me for that. I also get jokes made about how I put up a sun visor even on clouday days and how I always do a walk around when getting in or out of the car (have to know if a chip has happened so I can touch it up later on).

When you love something, you take care of it. No craziness in that.

I have 2 moving pads in my trunk just incase a hailstorm comes up. Have not had to use them yet but I'm ready for it.

Don't have hail in my town, but I've driven miles out my way to keep my newly washed S out of rain showers.

I'm with RsxFlyBy, the S is more than transportation to me.
