Thumbs up The future of S2000?

Hi there. I was (still am) a happy owner of 02' S2k. I always admired the lightweight small tightass package. One thing I was missing from the day one was a low end torque.

Last month I purchased 05 Viper SRT-10. What a difference! (especially after I changed the gears from 3.05 to 3.55). I did not drive S for almost 2 months but lately I found myself enjoying short shifting S tranny couple times I drove it around. If only it had torque... it's amazing how much I miss S sometimes. Even though SRT has way more power and better more crisp handling it also has 500 more pounds and in canyons the law of physics goes by the weight.

So my point was that I think that 400HP/400lbft engine with 7-8k redline in the car of S characteristics would be an awesome package.

What do you think? Any S3000/S4000 on the horizon? Would you buy one for (say) $50k?

I really enjoy driving the S. If it only had a decent power train it would be so much more fun. In answer to the question would you rather have fun or fast? I would say fun. However fun and fast sure would be nice. : )
