Hey everybody. I have been lusting after an s2000 ever since I drove one 5 years ago. I just graduated from college and found a job and now I am finally able to afford one. I am definitely leaning on an s2000 but I'm still considering an Evo X. In the five years of research I have all the information I need to make a decision except what I cant really find out during a test drive. I just want to know specificly how the s2000 handles like at the limit. Does it understeer/oversteer at corner entry, mid, or exit? How easy is it to get the car to rotate mid corner with the throttle? Does the car fight you or is it easily controllable? etc... Any information will be helpful.
Because of RWD the car has lots of oversteer. But that is to be expected from a car like this. S2000's are 50/50 weigh distributed which makes this car pretty easy to maintain while in the corners. It reacts well to every movement of the wheel you make.
AP1 suffer more oversteer than AP2's generally.
IMO i would get the S. The EVO may out perform an S but isnt visually stunning like the Honda. Nothing beats putting the top down and a nice cruise in the twisties. Good Luck on your decision.

That just depends on you. Your going to have alot more understeer with the evo then you are with the s2k, and if you enter the corner too fast it will understeer as most of the cars will. I would say my car it oversteers mid and exit mostly but that's just me, it could happen entering a corner, it just depends on what kind of driving you do. Also rotating the car in mid corner is very easy it's all about the throttle. See if anyone can take you to auto x or track as a passenger in the s2k and the evo and make your decision from there.
I was in the same boat between the S and the STi, ultimately I wanted a lighter car (after driving my buddy's elise). The AP2 has enough torque for daily driving without winding the motor out and makes enough power to satisfy me for now (s/c coming soon though
