FYI... I don't really care what these guys think...
Mercedes is not much more than a name plate to me....that is unless you are discussing the Mclaren SLR.

What's the big deal? It's the same kind of 8 people bag on it/2 people defend it ratio that we get here whenever anyone brings up a non-Honda/Acura product on the car talk board. With the same kind of misconceptions fueled by brand loyalty. For all of you to go over there and join to make 1 post defending the S2000 is kinda lame IMHO. It's their forum, they have a right to their opinions even if they are misguided or not shared with yours. We talk the same kind of shit about other cars here, and don't take kindly when someone from another forum joins S2ki just to argue with us.

I think most of us here love the S2k for what it is, and can accept it for what it is not. But really, some people are just not going to "get" the S2000. Many of the reasons they don't like it are the same reasons that I do.

And again, that is not the REAL Mercedes Benz board. The REAL one is www.mbca.org. Never seen any s2k bashing there. Fact is, MB does not really make a competitor for the s2k. That's OK, because Honda does not make true competitors for MB's RWD lux sedans and coupes.

Thanks,
Richard

Wait a minute. I was at the MCBA Summit Point event this year. There were at least 3 S2000s.

The only cars faster than me in the advanced group were a Lambo Gallardo, and a super charged M-coupe.

I would have remembered a fast SLK.

"Sorry to bust your bubble on this one, but I've been doing the same as you have for almost eight years, as I said above. An autocross instructor for five years, and a track instructor for four years.
The single S2K that shows up at our Summit Point events is driven by a very good driver, and the suspension has been upgraded. On a 2 1/2 mile track I lapped the car in 12 laps. "
