Default Garaged the S. Got a question

I washed, waxed, vacummed, Lexoled, and covered the S this Sunday. Its gonna be garaged until next spring, or until someone buys it. Should I periodically go and start it? Or just leave it?

Chris

Start it atleast once a month, I would even go as far a driving it around the block so when you park it, it sits on a different part of the tires which will prevent flat spots on the rubber.

i agree with baxdatass- i wouldnt just leave it either...
i would also use a car cover, and would probably detail it again each month when it is driven.
i suggest driving it more than just around the block- make sure that you warm it up to the 3 bars and then drive say 15 minutes or so...
also, i would change the oil before and after the storage.

It is covered with the stock car cover. But I can't drive it and then detail it. I live in the northeast where it gets cold as balls. Ill freeze to death washing it. But I should change the oil huh? Ill do that next week then. And start it once a month with a couple if revs.

Thanx,
Chris

I actually heard that it is NOT a good idea to start it up. It's best to just leave it off until spring. Cause where you live is very cold. When the car sits there for a month between each engine start, all the oil in the engine is gonna be at the oil pan. Your engine suffers the most wear and tear upon start up. When the engine is off for a month and then you turn it on, thats a HUGE amount of wear. Would you rather turn the engine on a few times through out the winter and have a lot of wear and tear? Or would you rather just turn it on once at the end of winter and only get the wear and tear once?

This will be the fourth winter storage for mine. I wash it, change the oil, put the top up, and park it. The battery is charged every six weeks or so to keep it from going dead. In the spring I change the oil, air the tires up, clean it and drive.

put it on jack stands, fill the tank, and make sure it is completely dry inside. As says the owners manual
