Default Gas Limit

Does anyone know how many miles you can go once the last fuel bar has disappeared?

Depends upon how you are driving, what mpg you are getting, road topography, the calibration of your particular gas gauge, and on how your particular gas gauge is behaving at that moment (since the S2000 gas gauge is a bit whacky at best). Anyway, in my AP2 I think there is over a gallon left when the last bar goes out. Probably more like a gallon and a half. Not sure how much of that you can use, though.

yeah my ap2 goes from 3 bars to 1 to 0 in like 20 miles. I did a quick "gauge check" with the honda tablet at our dealer and it is working properly (you can dial in a % of where the needle should be)

so i assume its the metering sensor. im not motivated to replace it since it dosent bother me.

whenever it's dropped to like 1/4, I'll just try to refill cuz the last few bars disappear real quickly.

yeah this is super annoying for me too! Once i get to 4 bars i try and make it last super long by driving nicely but its just a tease because in another 10 minutes its gonna be down to 0 Generally however, i have about 1.5 gallons in my car when the light appears.

guys...the fuel tank is a little over 13 gallons, so the last 1/4 tank is the last ~3.2 gallons. the low fuel light is designed to come on with about ~2 gallons left, so of COURSE the last 1/4 tank is going to seem like it goes by quickly. 3.2 -----> 2 gallons = ~20 miles for a lot of S2000s.

Supposedly, once the light comes on, you're supposed to have ~35 miles left to drive.

I've driven to the point where I'm under the impression that the car is running on fumes. No bars (AP1) and fuel light on for an extended period of time but never manage to fill more than 11 gallons.

If the tank is indeed 13 gallons and I fill up usually 11 gallons at the 300 mile mark then I could possibly squeeze another 25-40 miles and announce my spectacular MPG.

From fill up to fill up I consistently maintain 25-27 MPG. Can't imagine what that figure would be if I did 100% highway.

it's a good idea to avoid letting it drop below a 1/4 tank, that's when your filter and pump have the best chance of picking up any trash/rust and other crap that's in your tank...and trust me....it's in there

just my advice
