Gas Spill
Does anyone know the brest way to remove the smell from gas spilled on interior carpet? I didnt know if there is a commercial product available or whether a home brew works best. It is for a friend who had a gas can fall over inside his jeep and it saturated the carpet. Thanks for any suggestions.
Thanks for the help. I know Fabreeze is only a mask and I agree that steam cleaning and shampooing is the probable solution. Sorry for spelling best "brest" but it is 70 outside today and I was driving with the top down and passed by (very slowly) some gorgeous female joggers who unfortunately didnt have their tops down.

i could swear they say it doesn't cover the smell, but it gets rid of it.

You might try some good old Arm & Hammer baking soda. It's very good at absorbing moisture and odor. Cover the area with it, let it sit a day or so and then vacuum it out. It's worth a try and won't cost much. Kitty litter might also work to absorb the problem. I wouldn't smoke in your car for a while.
I've had great luck with Febreeze! Spray it on the affected area (dead mouse not gas) and when the Febreeze finally stops smelling like Febreeze I do not smell the other odor (dead mouse).
