Gas Tank!

does ur gas meter go down REALLY fast the first few bars and slow down towards the middle then fast again?? because im experiencing 30 miles in the first 5 bars....
is something wrong or is s2k's gas tanks shaped funny?

very common - www.howstuffworks.com - tells you why almost every gas guage in all cars, well, suck a$$.
hmmm im gettin about 200 on a full tank(well with 1 to 2 bars left)....
is this bad?? i just changed my airfilter recently too... any other ideas?
*note i do drive mostly local and traffic.... but does it effect the mileages that much?

City driving takes a huge toll on mileage. If you are filling up at 2-3 bars, you are probably only putting in 9 gallons or so. You're probably getting around 20 mpg. At least you don't have a 2004-05. The gas gauge on these are really wacked! The last 4-5 bars (there are lots of bars compared to early cars) go down in around 20-30 miles!

I typically get 260-300 miles per tank and I drive hwy and city miles with a bunch of spirited driving in between. Maybe my car is a freak but the gas guage is 95% correct at all times.
200 miles per tank seems really off. I would look into the issue if I were you.
