gasoline leak
Hi everyone, so searched all over for days i found like 2 things on this... anyone got any ideas on the best way to get to the gas tank... I went through the trunk but i can only see top and some lines are in the way. Someone said to go form behind the drivers seat. I looked for DYI's on maybe removing roll hoops to see if anyone had any pictures or step by steps to get to the tank from behind the seat, so I dont just start gutting shit out and possibly ruining anything or wasting time. Obviously i can go from below the car, but I haven't had a chance to get it on stands and i heard its kind of tough to reach with the sub assembly in the way.. Basically all my fuel is leaking out to the point the car wont start and I end up with a puddle.... thats how far i got. any thingwould help thanks
Is the puddle below the fuel tank? Liquids will run along frame rails and other structures so getting the car on a lift is a requirement to see the source of the leak. Seems the leak is only under pressure. Early cars have a return fuel system where fuel not used by the engine flows back to the fuel tank -- two sources of leak.
Removing the seats and plastic panels behind the seats offers good access to the fuel tank and fuel lines which are the prime suspects here. 22 year old rubber hoses.
