wasn't someone going to take apart the tach 'n all that stuff to see if we could change the color or the led's. i'd like to see it in blue or something....maybe yellow....or maybe have the tach start at dark red up through red, yellow, and bright ass white near red line...

I think it was determined that it wouldn't exactly be safe to do so...other colors apparently mess with your vision at night, so that's why it's red. I don't know exactly how they mess you up, I just know they do.

Our eyes are less sensitive to red light, and the color isn't as 'blinding' in our peripherals.

Back when the original discussion was going on, I surmised that you could get verious shades of green by placing light blue filters over the dash, but changing the color of the lights themselves would require a total replacement. Gauge clusters of that size are generally done in 'chunks' instead of individual lights, so you couldn't just jump in there and resolder a new component in.

But please, someone feel free to try and let us know how you do...
