Default Gauging interest level: Stage 1 NA package

Hey all,

I'm just trying to get a feel for the interest level for the following package.

1) Toda cams
2) Toda header
3) Piggy back ECU (not VAFC) preprogrammed to tie it all together

No idea on the horsepower, torque gains, availability or cost yet, but I'm wondering if there is interest out there for what would be essentially a plug and play Stage 1 NA powerup that should result in some meaningful gains.

It would be developed by a board sponsor.

Thoughts and feedback?

I would be interested of course! I DO want to know HP gains (dyno sheets) and pricing of course before I commit to anything....Soooooo....Yes I would be interested.

Yeah, they probably made no power because they didn't have the correct fueling. You can't just start changing parts and automatically expect a gain, without careful consideration of other parts of the system.

Plug an play probably isn't the right word. Do you have any idea how much a bitch it is to swap out the springs in the head? I've heard of the person who claims to have made no power with the Toda Cams, but that person has never come forward on his own or posted the dyno. Here is my theory as a person who has the Toda Cams. Toda Cams do not give any gains in peak hp. What Toda Cams do is increase torque and hp in the low end and mid-range. Anyone who has driven a car with Toda Cams will back this up.

Ahhh yes but with the new grinds I suspect that the peak HP will be raised now. A little more time and we will see what these new grinds and dyno charts to go along with them.

Wait, so Toda changed their cam profiles for the F20C? When did this happen?

Umm, also I was unaware that changing the valve springs is so tough on the F20C. Can someone give me a briefing as to why?

Thanks guys.

Is this "extra power" made just by adding the toda cams or by adding other components like bigger fuel injectors, Fuel Mapping changes, etc.??

No idea. No development work has been undertaken yet. If the stock fuel system doesn't have enough reserve capacity, upgrades will be part of the kit.

Rob,

Sounds good. What about a final gear set (4.44/4.77) to top off the package?
