hey guys i was wonder what od you guys think of the gear ratios in the car? i daily drive this thing. usually at around 45mph im at 2.5k in 6th. is that right? also my tpms is on that makes a difference.. im driving an MY08 too. so what do you guys think?

That is a little slow for that gear. I don't get into 6th until I reach at least 55 MPH under normal driving.

As for the gears, I changed to 4.77's, but mine is only a toy and used for fun. I do not have to drive mine everyday. If I did, I would have kept the OEM gears.

That sounds fine, that is where MY07 sits at.

i wasnt trying to make this one of those threads. i just was just wondering because it seemed a bit high.. but i guess its normal.

damn I just ordered a 4.77 gear I hope it's driveable for my DD.

It is, it just revs higher while cruising.

i didnt know it was normal thats why i asked. casue when i used to drive my scion it was at like 2.75k at 70

yep. normal. keep in mind your S tops out at 8200RPM, not 6500 like most. also, everything on the engine forged, so its pretty bulletproof on the stock tune against anything but a mechanical overrev. don't be afraid to spin the motor. it's designed to turn high RPM all day long.

With an AP1, anything less than 3000 is uncomfortable IMO.
