I'm 26, bought my car 3 years ago. Only make an average salary and don't own a home. I plan on being an apartment dweller indefinitely. That'll allow me to blow cash on travelling and seeing the world before my premature, untimely demise in some horrible fashion.

24 in 2 months. I make decent money. No mortgage yet. I wanted a convertible thats fun and sporty w/o spending too much and I ended up with the S. Oh and I guess the fact that the fiance is a Honda mechanic helped out on the decision.

23, avg. engineer's salary. after rent/utilities, credit card, car payment/insurance, there is still a little bit left over. i decided to get an '03 cuz i got a good deal on it, and like some other people...i figure it was either drive a car like this now, or in 25 years. most likely it'd be feasible to own two cars later on, but there's no guarantee...so why not own one now while i don't really have anything tying me down?

Oh, what did we do before there were S2000's and all the children stayed at home until they were 40?

We've come a long way from the $1.10 an hour I got in college.
Well, I could put a house 50 years ago on my credit cards today. Wages have not increased commensurate with housing prices, and although it may be easy to buy a home in Bumf*ck Iowa, out in the civilized world, 1000sqft 50 year old shacks in bad neighborhoods run from $500-750k.

word, home prices around here in CA are insane, they are building some new luxury homes that start at 1.7 mil... now who in the f#ck is going to afford that?

22 bought mine new from parents.

The least I could do is be humble about it, respect them and act like I've been reared by good parents, and be an educated, successful member of society. I'm going to law school next year. First one in my family to graduate high school, let alone everything after.

Nothing wrong with having your Parents buy you a car.

Just remember, when they get old the roles will be reversed and it will be your job to do things for them. Trust me when they get into their 70s, you'll earn every penny of a $30,000 car, plus you are really just driving your inheritance a little early.

I'm 23, full-time ME student, and paid cash for my '00 S2K.

I hate being in debt. Im waiting to modify the S after I save enough to pay off my $17k school loans.

Then I just need to save enough to buy a house with cash.
