To get rid of the S or not to?
Hope i got your attention. i have read this post entirely.
about a college kid wanting to buy a "fun car" ect ect. and a decent comparison is being made of the s, 370z and evo x
Now, my situation, i already have the fun car.. 04 AP2, love the car, however; I've owned the car for 4 years now, it is my DD and the car is aging a bit with 55k miles on the odometer, need to replace the clutch and do some maintenance soon.
I have started to get a feeling for the Nissan 370z.
I have also this past weekend test drove an 08 BB CR with 13k miles, they where offering it to me for $25k, not too crazy about it, even though the CR would be an "upgrade", it is, well the same car after all.
so here is my dilemma:
Options
Just stay with my S for a while longer,
SELL and get a used or new 370z or the CR
I know it is up to me I'm the one driving, paying and all but anybody here has gone through the same situation? What do you think would be better in terms of a deal?
Thanks in advance

Sounds like you still like the feel of the S but you'd like to "play" with something new for a while. I'd say either stick with your S or upgrade to CR. (did ya think i was gonna tell ya get the z?
lol)
lol)
Car preference is subjective and it ultimately comes down to your personal decision. It is wise to ask others for recommendations but be sure to take any advice with a grain of salt.
It is your car. It is your money. It is your decision.
That said, a sports car such as the ones listed in your options above should appeal to your soul. It should make you smile every time you sit behind the wheel. You should have a gut feeling that the car you drive is the right car for YOU. Its purchase may not always be rational but it is near impossible to put a price tag on the relationship an enthusiast has with his or her car.
To me it sounds like you have already written off the CR and are debating between keeping your S or moving on to the 370Z. I would suggest you evaluate where you stand with your S2000.
Do you see yourself enjoying driving the car for years to come? Are you willing to perform the necessary maintenance and commit to an extended term of ownership? Have you formed a strong enough bond with your S2000 to hang onto those keys? What car do you want to see sitting in your garage when you open the door?

55k miles is YOUNG! Get a new clutch, slap on a turbo or supercharger, and love fall in love again. I was thinking of getting rid of my s2000 for something different, but then I realized there wouldn't be anything as fun in my price range. So I am keeping the S, and have been ordering new parts for it, and plan on SCing in begining of May.

I've owned an AP1 and now own a 370Z. As others have said, it's ultimately up to you. I will say that the two feel very different. The S felt more nimble and the transmission is one of the best ever IMO. The Z is definitely more luxurious inside and feels much more powerful mainly due to the extra torque. Even though it doesn't "feel" as nimble, I take the normal twisty roads near my house significantly faster than I did in the S which suprised me.
Drive the CR and the Z. If you decide to buy, get what you like. Personally, I wouldn't do the "upgrade" to the CR. For me, the choice would be to keep the current S or buy something else. The CR might be a choice if you didn't have an S, but doesn't seem like enough of an upgrade to justify the cost.

supercharger sounds so tempting.... but just might be out of my budget right now.
and then again there is the Z option...
