To get rid of the S or not to?
2003-2005 = DE
2006 = Rev-up
2007-2008 = HR (best 350z engine)
2009 - ??? = VHR
Keep in mind if you decide to get a new car, have you considered that you would mod that one also? That only adds more debt to what you'd already be owing on the car. My opinion isn't based on the car, but on the economic factor.
370z is nice and I'm not sure how much a used one goes for, but 27K gets you the base model. No leather, empty nav box, NO LSD, poopoo wheels, no front or rear spoiler; plus the head units suck on the 370z.
Have you considered getting gears and lowering vtec engagement also to make the s2000 more lively? 4.77s are real nice.

I'm a man with simply tastes. Driving the s2000 still puts a smile on my face. I could be driving all sorts of fancy cars none of that matters.
As other people have already advised, keep the s2000 and save some money. Trading in your car and making car payments is throwing away money and unwise. I don't understand why people have such a hard time paying $3k cash but will happily jump into $15k of debt. Don't be so short sided. If you have no mortgage or rent, you should be in the positive and already saving up to buy a home, not looking to swap car payments. You will understand that in a couple of years (hopefully).
The s2000 is a very nice car. It is reliable and maintenance is relatively inexpensive. Even if you have to put money into a new soft-top and clutch, it is not money lost because the dealer would deduct you that amount anyways. I understand that you have the itch for something new. But there will always be something "newer, faster, and better." Finish paying off your car and have fun modifying (without screwing up the engine). There are all sorts of things you can do and at 55k miles, your car is not even close to being old.

Yes I agree. In the end most cars are bad investments anyways and its just about preference and wanting something difference. But the s2k is such a fun car so I don't understand
The OP didn't mention anything bad about the car. I think he just wants some change. Like I said before, I think you'll be happy putting a SC on it and in the long run you will save some money. Win win

not trying to thread jack but is there a thread that speaks about the pros and cons of supercharged vs turbo?
im only asking because some people have been saying turbo and some supercharged. so im wondering what is better for a high reving engine.
