Is it getting better and better.......?
The last 3 months or so my S2000 got better and better.
First I changed to Spoon rotors & pads.
IMO they brake better then the rotors I had, allthough that most likely says more about the old (machined to min specs) OEM rotors I had.
Then I got the Shifter Beeper.
I never "got hit by the limiter" again.
After that the 4.57 gears (and Yellow box)
Wow... the biggest step forward so far.
DD is so much fun to drive now
And the car it easyer to drive like a granny, picking up in any gear without protest.
The trans. oil change to MTL-P is also an improvement IMO.
After waiting for 2 months the Koni Adjustables are on the car.
Still have to get an alignment (UK-spec I think).
To top it all up I got 4 new SO-2's this Friday.
Its a whole new car!
Better then when I bought it, 20 months / 29k km ago.
Closer to how it was supposed to be?

Coming from soft Michelins I am impressed by the SO-2's.
I was afraid it would become a bumpy ride.
Non of that!
Now after 80 miles the molding release stuff what makes them slippery is gone and they are rubbed in a bit going around corners.
I should have gotten them straight away.

First I will say I don't track the car.
Just road use.
Sometimes spirited of course.
When warmed up a bit they brake very good, IMO better then what I had (OEM pads too)
They certainly look better
I think the Spoon pads are a bit softer then OEM.
They are also thicker, I could not get all the shims in, just the shiny one between the pad & piston @ the front.
At first they squeeked, now they almost dont, only when braking very slightly.
The front disks are both the same so the vanes run in the "wrong" direction on one side of the car. (don't remember which side).
After a while the coating starts to wear (on the parts the pads do not touch) and a little rust is visible.
They DO rust while parked after driving in the rain.
Before installation I painted the part you see through the wheels so they dont become rusty.
Bottom line = I like them, they look good, they work good.
Second thought = I could not compare the performance with a new OEM set.
but every time I put new tires it's a real treat!

how would you describe the spoon brake kit? I've been thinking about getting it

Today the car was UK-spec-ish alligned.
After putting the Koni's on the (front) allignment was a bit out.
Camber Front L/R : -0'12" / -0'32"
Toe Front L/R : 0'03" / 0'05"
Camber Rear L/R : -1'23" / -1'30"
Toe rear L/R : 0'06" / 0'12"
Now it is like this:
Camber Front L/R : -0'56" / -0'58"
Toe Front L/R : 0'00" / 0'00"
Camber Rear L/R : -1'21" / -1'28"
Toe Rear L/R : 0'15" / 0'13"
First driving impressions
Much better biting into corners, it really feels "planted".
(A set of new SO-2's help too, I have to admit
)
The rear wasn't changed that much, exept for the toe.
Now I can't think of anything left to do but
all day
Side note : I also went to OEM tire pressure with the SO-2's.
OEM is not so bad... it looks like "they" knew what "they" were doin'
