Getting Clutch TSB and now have to write to Honda
My car went in for the clutch tsb and now it needs a new pressure plate and throwbearing. The flywheel also needs to be reconditioned. Honda considers this wear. Although my car is an 00', it only has 16K miles.
I have had 7 Hondas all with manual transmissions and this is the first time I have needed tranny work before 90k miles.
My district rep and AHM will be hearing from me (especially since I was going to buy a new accord with a manual trans. tomorrow). That purchase will be held up now.

Thats
tell them that you want the oem friction plate replaced as per the tsb and while its out you want to replace the Press plate and throw bearing. The aftermarket parts should be the only cost unless they are total pricks. Labour is no different to replace with aftermarket so how can they justify not covering it?
Saying that the car needs the parts straight away is complete
and they would be saying that to put pressure on you.
When I had my tsb done they would push my car outside the workshop every day while they were waiting for the Honda australia approval and the gearbox was sitting on the workbench.
BTW if they didnt approve it was going to be put on a flat bed to my own mechanic.

Damn, sorry to hear about this. Definately speak with a Honda DSM. At 16k miles, you should have no issues. Sounds like a dealer just wanting to create problems. I had 35k miles on my '00 when they replaced the pressure plate and clutch assembly. After the work, the Service Rep said that Honda nearly denied the warranty claim and said I was obviously enjoying some "very spirited" drives.
I cringe to think what my '02 (now with 42k miles) is like.
However, I have no issues (knocking on wood) with the tranny.
Hope you have it resolved and I hope that you make that Accord purchase. Anna is just tickled with her new Accord. She really, really loves it.
