Getting an s2000 ready for SC possibly nitrous?
Just reading through some of the articles here, I'm getting familiar with opinions of superchargers and nitrous systems, but I'm not seeing much on what my car needs to handle them. Say I was going to get the comtech SC with 50 shot nitrous kit:
- Should I even bother having them both? There's some runs every once in a while at the local track, but it will be mainly for street ego.
- Do I need to upgrade the rear end? Engine reinforcements? Anything else like that?
- What's the cost of this stuff going to be, assuming I'm having someone else do the work?
- What kind of stuff should I do to the engine to prepare for it? Tune-up (obviously), replace spark plugs? Spark plug wires?
Keep in mind I want the car to be a sleeper, and thanks in advance for the info.

Well, you might have better luck in the "under the hood" forum (assuming this doesn't get moved there anyway.)
Honestly, I think your best bet is to drive the car for a while and see what you like/don't like then go change that.
The car is pretty high compression already so boosting it up a lot dictates that you beef up the internals. Most people seem to think that you are OK running the SC without doing anything to the car, but I would guess that running both a SC and NOS would mean you need to do some work.
I can't give you any kind of idea on cost, but I can suggest you thouroughly check out any shop you let work on your car before you let them touch a thing. Get referances AND check them. There have been a few horror stories (all with at least two sides) of people shelling out thousands and thousands of $$$ and still not having a functional car.
