Getting tired of my S2000
once u get that feeling, it's time to move on. either that or mod it so it satisfies u again.
go test drive a bunch of potential cars u might get. who knows maybe that will make u want to come back to the S. good luck mate.

Get your valves adjusted. My car was feeling the same way and it had low miles too. I took it to the dealer and they adjusted the valves and it was better but still very slow before VTEC and so I went to a private performance mechanic and we adjusted the valves together so I could learn something. Anyways even the dealer did a crappy job. The valves were still way outta spec. We did it in about an hour then my car felt brand new and very fast again. Maybe it's the 9K redline or just the design of the engine but the valves can get outta whack in a short time compared to other cars. Oh, my gas mileage got better too. It's worth some consideration to check it out.
I second the notion to get the slack out of the throttle cable .
Lots of good suggestions, a few that worked for me when I had the S:
1. Buy a cheap, slow beater to use as a daily driver. I found an 85 Subaru Brat for $1600, after driving that around all week I would get in the S and it felt unbelievably fast!
2. Do something to it, exhaust, CAI, gears whatever, something to make the experience a little different
3. Road trip. Find some interesting out of the way location and take a weekend trip. My GF & I did this a few times and found some really cool places (winery's, historic areas, small towns...) we'd not likely have gone otherwise or that would not have been nearly as much fun in her Accord.
4. Test drive some other cars you would consider over the S, if you fall for one of those then consider selling it. Just be ready b/c you will likely realize that HP/TQ/Bling isn't really as important as the overall experience of driving the car. I've been considering the other options that are out there and in the end I can't imagine being happy long term with anything other than the S. I'm almost at the point where I'll be able to get another one and I can't wait!
Hope it works out for ya.

My rear makes clunking noises when i go over bumps. Maybe its my Eibach springs, who knows. When i shift to second, it clunks into gear with a little kick.
Everyone gets used to their car, whether it be an S2k, a 911 Turbo, or an F150. It that weren't the case, Pickups woulnd't be as popular (people buy one, get disappointed as to the driving performance, get used to it to the point where it's not an issue, then they buy new pickups later).
The best remedy I've seen to "getting used" to your S2k is to park it at home, and rent a car for a week (doing a temporary trade with a friend works too). You'll notice right away the limitations of the new ride, then when you get into the S2k you'll learn to appreciate it again.
Like most things, you get used to them over time. Ask yourself why many supermodels complain that their boyfriends no longer want to make love to them? Because their boyfriends get used to them and they no longer stand out like they did when they first met. It's no different with sports cars, except sports cars don't argue with you
