For all of the cynics who doubted the veracity of the ealier post about the glass rear window and whether Honda had issued any indication of its intention to make one available, I have in front of me a copy of the actual communication, courtesy of Mike Lasko at Open Road Honda in Edison, NJ.

The information is in Front Line, a dealer newsletter published by the Honda Sales Communications Department of American Honda Motor Co, Inc.

Here it is verbatim:

"A new option on the S2000 will interest your cold-weather buyers and those who want a glass rear window. News You Can Use covers this feature and other items about the roadster."

This publication also indicates 2000 calendar year US sales of 6,797 S2000s, a 100 percent increase over CY 1999.

If that is all it says, it could be refering to the hard top.

Hardtop makes sense because of reference to an "option" and "cold-weather buyers".

That doesn't sound like anything but the hard top to me either. Sorry Rick

Any chance you can get hold of a copy of "News You Can Use" - which should clarify any confusion, Rick?

Rick,

I hope they're talking about the hardtop option...*wink*wink*

I've already spent too much time on thought and research of modifying our OEM window to throw it out the door.

I don't understand the relevance of calendar year 1999 sales doubling in calendar year 2000. The sales in 1999 didn't start till September, but there were 12 months of sales in 2000. Am I missing something?
