Goal Vol. First s2k
If you're going to school, i would make sure you have a safe place to park it since the top is likely to get cut for the seats.
As far as buying it, make sure you have a dependable source of income and get a loan for it through a bank. Buying it outright doesn't do anything for your credit. Finance whatever gives you a good monthly payment. having no credit is just as bad as having bad credit.

as far as alignments are concerned, go to Firestone and get their life time alignment plan. its $180 but you can mod your car how you like and they will never ask questions when you bring it in. Since December I think I have gotten 9 alignments. So yea its worth it.
people will steal your seats almost anywhere they can get at them.
Welcome!
Sounds like a good plan. I saved for 6 years to get my S (through most of college and before)... and it was definitely worth it. Saved the amount I needed in cash and bought it outright. Others have made a good point though, a car purchase is a good opportunity to build credit if you need it, so something to think about for sure - especially if you have the full amount saved, there really isn't a lot of stress in making payments - just switching money from one account to another, really. Either way, sounds like you've got a good financial plan and know what you're looking for.
Spend a lot of time looking at forum posts on what to look for when buying an S2000, and be willing to be patient for the right one to come along. Good luck with the process!

6 years for me to get mine. as soon as I got my drivers license and my parents gave me a beat up toyota land cruise with like 200k miles on it, I started saving up. There was no goal for a particular car, but I just knew I wanted something nicer lol. So, 6 years and $25k later, I found the love of my life.
Look up Dave Ramsey. There's no reason to build credit. Some would say if you can't afford to pay cash, you can't afford it. While I've never followed that logic myself (too much of an instant gratification type), I believe it, and I wish I had the discipline to follow it. Don't take out a loan just to keep money in the bank...save that much extra so you can have money in the bank AND make the purchase. Now's the time, while you're in college, to start off right. Good luck.
