Going from AP1 to AP2
I too think the 9k redline is neat and one of the attributes that makes the s2k what it is. I'm just having a hard time deciding which to get. I like the bigger wheels, headlights, and bumpers on AP2 while I like the Ap1 taillights and the red/black int better. I also like the 9k redline and rawness of ap1 but having already had one for so long thought it may be cool to own one that looks and drives different. Just worried I will regret getting an ap2 and then be in the same boat that I am now. I agree with the loss of 1k rpms is not worth ~10ftlbs tq. I had a feeling I would get biased responses here, everyone feels what they have is the best. I already see the thread turning into a 9000> 8000 thread.
Currently I own a JDM AP1 and a CR (AP2). There are reasons why I love both. In a perfect world the AP2 would have the F20C. 9K is something that makes me feel more connected to the car, makes it feel special. The F20c is about the only benefit to the AP1 in my opinion. For DD'ing or the weekend cruze with the wife I would go AP2 all the way. I think I would swap a CR steering rack into the AP2 just to make the steering quicker. That is all personal preference though. Test drive one and see what you think. If you have anything specific just ask.
Also, I think you should try some Auto-X or some other type of track day. It is amazing pushing the AP1/2 to the limits, legally.

I'm gonna chime in on this and give you my opinion. I've owned my AP1 for about 4-5 years now, I blew the engine about 2 years ago and replaced it with a low mileage F22C and boy do I never look back. The little tiny 8 lbs of torque on the F22C make a big difference for daily driving to me, I hardly hit vtec but when I do, I could still hit 9k since I still have my old ecu!!
If you ask me, I think Honda should have gone this route, but even so, I sometimes just shift around < 8.5 and feel no urge to hit 9k. I think this 9k vs 8k is a little biased, of course 9k sounds rad but ultimately the differences on performance are held to a minimum. Not to mention that the early F20C did come out with problems such as the weak retainers. All in all, if I had the chance to chose again, I would go for an AP2 model simply because of the upgrades (cosmetic differences) Good luck!

Ap2 FTW !!!!
U had a ap1 already
Now it's time to try ap2
Sure no ninek line
But how many times do you use redline as a dd?
Just search for both and go from there what ever saves you more money
With less miles .
Gluck with the search ap1/2 it's still and S
