i used to want a AP1 because of the redline, now i don't care. ill take the bigger motor.
i dont see the big deal really. My zx6r revs to like 17k and my 1000r revs to 10.5k. no one freakin complains that they cant rev their 1000cc to 16k.
honda plans to put a k24 in the civic si and people are complaining that the redline is going to be lower. people swap k24s with type S head anyway just like the crvtecs in the ole crx.

never tried an AP1, but i hear the redline argument all the time.

my AP2 has a 8500 redline after i tuned it

I think I'm leaning towards a GPW or BB AP2, hopefully with black/red or tan (if GPW) interior. I'm not sure about all of the changes made between each MY so I'll need to look into it to figure out which year I want. In my hunt for a car if I come across an AP1 that is to my liking I will definitely consider it.

Im really not too concerned about not having a 9k redline, yeah it would be cool to have it as a conversation item and because its regarded as being a legendary motor but I think I would rather have a newer model and having already owned an AP1 I would like to have owned both types of s2k. I'll typically be cruising on weekends with the wife and in the summer taking the car to work which is a 20 mile stretch of highway with heavy law enforcement. If my F22C ever blows I can always swap in a JDM F20C.

I really want to drive an AP2 because I think that's the only way to decide for sure, anyone in the Atlantic City area?

I enjoy the AP1 due to the sportier feel via steering and wind-up motor. However, if I wanted a faster car with more comfort I would've bought an AP2. I have an Accord that is my people mover so a slower, on edge sports car suits me fine. For all out speed purposes I would've bought a used R34 GTR (yes they have those where I am). They are DAMN sexy and huge, a tremendous road presence. That is actually a bad thing in my neck of the woods since the streets are smaller.
