Default Going on a diet: how to loose 100 Kgs

I have meant to post this for quite a while but never got around to do it.

How much can we lighten the S2000 using commercially available parts?

Please correct or add to the list as you see fit.

Savings (in Kgs):

Mugen exhaust: 11.0
Mugen headers: 3.8
Getting rid of the spare tyre: 11.0
Spoon wheels: 16.0
2 Spoon seats: 16.0
Brakes (Spoon? Dwb1?): 10.0
Mugen Coilovers: 3.5
Carbon hood: 2.7
Toda Flywheel: 2.0
Mugen CAI: 5.0 (???)
Spoon Battery: 4.0

Total: 85 kgs so I'm still a bit short of 100kgs. Any other suggestions? I know the Amuse Ti headers and exhaust would probably save another 10kgs. ... and you can run with an half empty tank saving another 20kgs

Anyway, FWIW a 100kgs savings is equivalent to an increase of 20HP not to mention all the handling benefits. Better than what we can do with most (if not all) performance parts (excluding force feeding)!

Out of curiosity, how much would we save if we get rid of the A/C?

carbon fiber trunk, and driveshaft, remove the passenger seat, remove the soft top and the motor, that should be 15kg

Spoon, Mugen, + CF = mega $$$. I'm all for mods, but this diet would prob. be very low on the bang for the buck scale.

Take out 1 seat, stereo, speakers, and tool kit. Is there such a thing as a light weight radiator and fan?

Let's see, there's always a plastic windshield (probably about as durable as our pit-o-matic stock glass), and side glass removal for the dedicated. You didn't mention using the lightest tires possible. There must be some funky light weight shift knob and steering wheel available. Have you weighed the carpet and mats? A custom fuel cell could weigh less than stock tank (as long as we're dreaming). People have wanted aluminum suspension arms (like NSX). Then there's ultra lightweight brakes for each wheel (yeah, carbon discs!). The electric power steering motor must weigh a few Kg. Change the flanged header/exhaust system into a pin-and-clamp-together without ANY flanges. How about replacing EVERY fastener with a lighter weight version? Those Spoon pistons save about 1 Kg if I read the weights correctly. Rip that plastic cover off the roll bars.

Hmm, Shelby would be saying "acid dip the frame" about now.

Spoon Battery: 4.0

You can probably get a lighter battery for cheaper price. I have forgotten the name but it is about 1/3 the size of a conventional battery but performs just as well.
"powerbat" or something cheesy.

Good luck
