Hey everyone; what has been your recent experience with the prices of the S2000s lately? Has the insanity stopped or are we still expected to drop cash over msrp? I'm comparing this to the trend I've seen on ebay (not exactly high level quality research here) but no one on ebay has bid over msrp in quite a while, and there are usually 4-6 s2000 on auction at a time... Thanks!

My local dealers are asking $38-40K for S2Ks with no options, but they're not getting it. They're going out the door for $36-37K

I was just at Los Gatos Honda and they have a Silver/Black and Red/Black on "sale" for 38600.00 with no options. The usual asking price was around 42K.

Is that recently ? Or a year ago? Jmark has his for sale, I think he is in the Carolinas. That should be a good barometer of the current market value for our cars.

Pretty close. The dealers around here suck (which is why I bought mine in MD), but the nearest one just sold a USED silver/red for 35K. This particular dealer won't go below about 37K. Some of the other dealers in town are selling new ones for 33-37K depending on where you go

Well here is my experience. Prices are from MSRP to $37750 within a 600 mile radius. My deal on the 2001 Spa Yellow is at $35000 with a $31000 Silver/black trade. Within 2 miles of my home a dealer sits on a Spa Yellow at $36999 and he says the price is firm. I tried to get him to beat my deal by $500 and he wouldn't. My dealers last sell for a 2001 went for $36400. Charlotte dealer told me he was looking at $36000 and he wanted to sell to locals. I have my 2000 Silver/black with 5400 miles in excellent condition for sale at $32000 and I can't seem to sell it. I feel that most dealers get so few that they figure they can sit on it till someone falls under the S2K's charm.

I agree with JMark, the dealers are sitting on them until some sucker comes along because each dealer here in Richmond only gets 4-5 cars per year, which is not much compared to the suburban D.C. dealer where I bought mine

in the last month, I've posted two s2k's at msrp on the for sale section of this board. after being screwed by a local dealer here, I called all over the place and have gotten some great responses from a few dealerships - a few of them are offering at MSRP, others at a hair over - and what I mean a hair over? Well, a grand or only 500 over. I didn't get mine for flat out MSRP, but 500 over, which to me, was worth it considering how easy it was to work with the dealership.

if you are looking for one, just keep checking out the for sale section of this site. when you are ready to make the purchase - and believe me, its worth the long wait! - just give the word and I'm sure someone out there can find you a great deal. (of course, I dont receive any kick back on any of these deals, I just dont want to see everyone ripped off)

A dealer in my neck of the woods has a spa yellow priced at $43k! This is the exact same price they had on a 00 black/black 10 months ago when I bought mine. I didn't buy mine from that dealer.
