I'm thinking of selling mine. '04 silverstone with 18k miles right now on it. 6,000 miles per year average. It's my weekend car so I don't commute to work with it. No door dings, no dents. Only 3-4 small rock chips on the hood and front fenders (shit happens). The rear passenger side wheel has a little bit of curb rash. The car is garaged AND covered with Honda S2000 car cover. It also comes with a clifford high end alarm with proximity sensor (total cost was $600 installed) . Washed and waxed all the time. Mobil 1 oil. How much do you guys think I can ask for it? I was thinking $25k.

A little too steep. You could probably get a brand new 06 for $27k, although that would be before tax, of course.

you're trying to buy a convertible sports car in the middle of summer. you're not going to get a "good" deal this time around. if you do, consider yourself lucky. if you can wait...wait till late fall or winter. i've seen some ridiculous s2k prices during those times: both dealership and private party.

another thing to think about is that $3.5-$4k more will get you a brand new s2000. $2k more and you can get a slightly used '06 that has already taken the depreciation hit. either way you'll be getting a warranty that's still in effect.

Right, but I would lose the hard top - $3k right there. Side strakes, front lip, wing, etc. - finding all of that in one car is tough! These are all things I would want to do to the car. In the end, I WOULD have a newer car, but would still be deeper in the hole after buying these parts outright.

See my delimna?

The $25k price is before tax as well.

i understand what you're saying. i'm not sure how bad you want this car, but sometimes waiting a few weeks enables the seller to rethink his/her price. granted, it might be gone in the next few days but that's the chance you have to take. if the seller's car does not sell w/in a certain period, they're more than likely going to lower the price. it happens all the time.

buying a car sucks man. good luck.

haha, it does suck. The car has been on autotrader since may, so I would "think" he would want it to move, but apparently not.

Only 3 people have called about it and no one has come to see it. So maybe he knows he is high on price? Who knows, but I am searching high and low for the best deal out there!

Sticker I'm in the EXACT predicament as you. I live in California but I don't care about the HT, sideskirts, etc. A Hardtop would be nice to have though. I'm looking for an 04-05. Around here I've seen them between 21-25k.

Do you all really think after summer the prices on them will drop? I was thinking the same thing but I just don't know how likely it is. I really want an 04 and nothing older. Also, I just realized tax is gonna be another 1500 or so on top of the price. I have another month or two of saving up now haha. I want to buy it out cash.
