Default Is this a good deal?

Hello, I am a new member here. I am currently looking at a 2001 S2000 that has 84,000 miles on it. The condition looks very good, just a few rock chips here and there but nothing major. The current owner has had the car for the past 13 years and there were 2 owners before that. I pulled a carfax and it was maintained regularly but it did state that that there was a minor/moderate accident involving the front driver's side. The car is completely original with no modifications at all and the asking price is $12,600. I am a member on a number of other car forums but I don't know much about s2k's so for you experts out there can you please let me know what you think of the price? Thanks!

Photos and location help.

Any S2000 under $15K and under 100K miles is, on the surface, a good price especially if un-modded and not de-modded.

Keep in mind the roof on our cars is a normal wear item and roughly a $1200 expense to replace. The '01 has a plastic rear window. Replacements offer a glass window which is better.

The first generation cars, '00 and '01, have a learning curve greater than the later cars as their suspensions oversteer more. Honda dialed out much of that out in the later cars. Some are fans of this. It can be a real surprise to those used to FWD cars.

Agree on price that's a great deal if the car is well represented with that few of miles.

02+ had glass tops and are much better. If you have to replace the top anyway, I would go with a glass top from Robbins. They make a kit to retrofit.

I replaced my original with a Robbins top and it still looks like new today. Been on the car for almost 5 years.

If you are a wrencher at all, you should be able to handle it yourself. Time consuming, but not difficult.

Good luck, and post pics of the car if you get it.
