Is this a good deal?
It sure look like one to me.
Some dealership is offering me a 2001 Spa Yellow S2K for 36,500$. Here's where it gets interesting. It comes with the following options:
- Front underbody spoiler
- Side strakes
- Rear spoiler
- Honda 6-disc CD changer
- Hard top
- 18" chrome wheels with BS Potenza
- Titanium shift knob.
Tax and prep extra. It's got 200 miles. It looks amazing. I'm pretty sure it's a good deal but I'm not ready to buy... yet. I was really set on getting the 2002, especially for the glass window and the mechanical improvements. Also, I'd be worried it's been driven hard for the first 200 miles. The salesman told me that it was test driven often.
So, what do you think?

Too late...
I just noticed many people complain about the strakes. I think they look good and add style to the car. What's wrong with them (apart from the fact that you have to drill one hole for each)?

Excellent deal...as long as no one has ragged on the car(200 miles). I've got the strakes also....I wasn't to keen on them at 1st, but they've grown on me.

A friend at work has the strakes and they look like crap - this is because they are flapping in the breeze...I guess they didn't install them correctly or something ???

S2k02,
I know the dealer and I know the car and I can tell you that it has been driven hard and put away wet. I can tell you this because I personally took it on a test drive along with dozens of others. While I can't speak for the others, I did VTEC the engine, driving the car very hard and the salesperson riding next to me said nothing.
That thing has been in Capital's showroom for over a year - did you notice all of the scratches on the sides from people walking by and looking in the windows? I would never buy that vehicle. Capital is one of the worst dealers in the Bay Area.
Send me an email or PM and I will tell you all about my experience.
