Default Good News!

I am going to get to keep my S2000! It was initially leased by my brother, but he can't use it in the city so I took the lease over and payed him back for his initial expenses with a bit of help from my parents and the money I got from selling my jeep.

I have 2.5 years left on the lease, and about 31K miles, but since I have gotten some good scholarship money for college and I think (99%) my parents are going to let me keep it/ help me pay for it, since I am helping them with college. I am just wondering if there is any way to confirm the transaction sooner than in 2.5 years, or should I wait? Am I getting too far ahead of myself? I just don't really know if I should do anything with this news or put it off for another 2 years. Any input would be apreciated. Thanks!

If you plan to turn the lease into a loan or pay it off early (that's what I did) they hit you with the interest payments that you haven't been making on the lease.

After I paid off the lease, I went to DMV to change the pink into my name and DMV hits me with a bill for over $1,000. Just a heads up.

So are you are saying that it would be in my best interests to wait it out? Regardless, thanks for the input!

I am just giving you the heads up. I am the WRONG person to be giving financial advice to anyone. I just want you to be aware of what could/might happen at the end of your lease if you plan to keep the car.

you are getting ahead of yourself. wait until youre making real money before getting into a car. pay what you immediately owe, first (school)

just make sure you don't join any sports team at your college, rape a girl with 10 of your teammates, and lose your scholarship.....that would suck.....I mean, who would actually DO something like that?
